Damir Imamović
was born in 1978 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the grandson of one of the most influental sevdah singers – Zaim Imamović. Damir used to perform abroad together with his grandfather and his father
Nedžad Imamović at the beginning of his music career.

In 2005, Damir Imamović started performing solo concerts, and in 2006 he founded his first trio, with whom he recorded two spectacular albums. Various performances with Bojan Z, Eric Vloeimans, Jadranka Stojaković and recordings with Vlatko Stefanovski, Hüsnü Şenlendirici and Frenki followed. Imamović also performed in prominent concert halls including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, Kolarac in Belgrade, BKC in Sarajevo, Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana, CRR in Istanbul and many more. After two solo albums Imamović started recording with his favourite band Sevdah Takht in 2012.

Marina Andree produced a documentary film called Sevdah about Damir's work and philosophy in 2008.

Imamović initiated also the SevdahLab project – a travelling interactive laboratory of sevdah in which Damir explores history and aesthetics of this traditional art. SevdahLab lectures and workshops were held in different universities and institutes for music and art in Europe and USA.

See you at the concert!
