As part of the visit, Chantal Felder and Ilma Arnautović met with representatives of i-diaspora (Aldin Vrškić, Dalida Karabdić, and Nermin Zejnilović), representatives of local administration, civil society organizations, and the business sector to discuss past successes and future projects.

During the meeting, the focus was on the past projects implemented by i-diaspora, the presentation of the Pitch book for the year 2023, and plans for activities for the current year.

Particular emphasis was placed on the desire to strengthen cooperation on future projects, with a focus on five key development segments in Bosnia and Herzegovina: development of small local communities, economy, inclusion, culture, and youth engagement. These areas represent the foundation for building more sustainable and prosperous communities, and intensive exchange of experiences and practices between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina is planned.

At the formal reception, the Mayor of Kladanj, Mr. Jusuf Cavkunović, welcomed and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Swiss Embassy and i-diaspora/i-platform in the development of local initiatives. Following this, a video presentation of the cultural and historical heritage of the region was shown, highlighting the richness that is preserved and nurtured.

Dalida Karabdić took over the presentation of all projects and activities in Kladanj, providing insight into the concrete steps taken by i-diaspora to support community development.

As part of the visit's agenda, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Sports Hall in Kladanj, guided through the premises by Dragana Čaušević. They also visited the location of the Ski-lift "Karaula," the Bebrave excursion site, and a cave, providing insight into the natural beauty and tourist potential of this area.

The visit by the delegation from the Embassy of Switzerland and i-diaspora/i-platform represents an important step towards strengthening international cooperation and supporting local development. It is expected that the planned projects will contribute to improving the living conditions of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to building a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.
