As part of a field visit to Kladanj, which was implemented as part of the Snaga lokalnog (The Power of the Local) project on November 18, members of the Peacebuilding Network Association met with representatives of organizations actively working to improve their local community.

The focus of the meeting was on working in the local community, problems and challenges faced by these organizations, public companies and their staff, mutual cooperation and support, work within an informal group, as well as call initiatives and events in Kladanj.

On that occasion, many important activities carried out in the organization and partnership with the i-diaspora were highlighted. She also referred to the activities of the i-platform, in the organization of which the project "Diaspora Meetup" was launched, now as an example of good practice in several cities and municipalities of BiH. The project has so far been recognized and taken over as "now-how" by the following local communities: Bijeljina, Zavidovići, Zenica, Živinice and Tuzla.

Through continuous work, APL was initiated with more than thirty small projects, of which 30% have already been successfully implemented. As a representative of the i-diaspora, Karabdić reiterated that the most important thing is to build trust and network our Kladanj-born peers who live around the world. 

The Kladanj library, one of the oldest public institutions in this local community, was also cited as a positive example. President of BZK "Preporod" Kladanj, Nevzeta Rustemović, spoke about previous activities such as "Race for Health", which was successfully implemented because a dozen actors took part in the organization, as well as a large number of volunteers and economic entities from Kladanj, Tuzla and Živinice.

Nevezeta Šečić, a representative of the organization “Žena – ženi” Kladanj, spoke about the project which included fruit production and was supported by the organization Nodas from Sarajevo that secured the necessary tools and machines. In addition to the space allocated by the Municipality of Kladanj and OV Kladanj, financial assistance for the adaptation of the space, which was in extremely poor condition, was partly provided by representatives of the i-dijaspora, with the support of Kladanj municipal authorities and many volunteers and businesses.

Mirza Begić spoke on behalf of the Youth Bank (Omladinska banka) with the representatives of the"Peacebuilding Network" Association, who pointed out that they had realized 8 projects in the previous period and presented those projects at the conference to be held on November 18.

Jasmina Ovčina from the CISP Italian organization has introduced us to the cooperation with organizations in this municipality since 2006, and points out that whoever comes to Kladanj once, always comes back. Through CISP, Jasmina provides support to various initiatives and organizations in Kladanj, and the dedication and motivation of the people of Kladanj is evidenced by the fact that for Earth Day, the Ambassador of Italy visited Kladanj.

By responding to the visit and presenting successfully implemented projects, i-platform / i-dijaspora announced new activities that have yet to be implemented in the municipality of Kladanj.
