Thursday, October 14th, 2021 was a date when a promotion and presentation of the Association "i-platform" in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.
The host and moderator of the event held in the Old Town of Travnik was Enes Škrgo.
At the beginning, the hosts, representatives of the Central Bosnia Canton Enes Kasumović from the Office for European Integration, Funds, Public Relations and Quality according to international standards, and the representative of the Municipality of Travnik Amra Đelilbašić, Assistant Mayor spoke the audience.
Members of the Management Board of the i-platform, Ivica Petrušić and Nenad Stojanović, presented the work of the "i-platform" in Switzerland, what is the reason for the creation of the "i-platform" and activities implemented from 2015 until today in Switzerland. Among other things, the meaning of the name "i-diaspora/i-platform" was explained, where "i" (“and” in english) represents the connection for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the diaspora too.
It was pointed out that the Association, unlike other diaspora associations, gathers people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of ethnicity.
After that, Tarik Kapić, President of the Management Board, spoke to the audience and explained reasons of the opening a sister-organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He implied that so far the initiative for cooperation with the diaspora has mostly come from the diaspora, while after the establishment of the "i-platform" in Bosnia and Herzegovina it will go in the direction from local communities to the diaspora.
The members of the Management Board mentioned that the focus of the work will be the development of local communities and that this is one of the reasons why the headquarters of the Association is in Travnik.
The representative of the Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azra Šarenkapa, also spoke to the audience, expressing satisfaction with the establishment of the "i-platform" in Bosnia and Herzegovina so as the readiness for cooperation.
At the end of the ceremony, Aldin Vrškić, the representative of the "i-diaspora" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented to the audience the projects implemented in the past 18 months and announced an action plan for the coming period. The focus of the "i-platform" in the coming period, as in the previous one, will be the exchange of knowledge and skills and the implementation of initiatives and projects at the local level.
After that, Dalida Karabdić, coordinator of the i-platform for Kladanj and Tuzla Canton, had the final presentation where she explained the work of the "i-platform" on the example of Kladanj and presented numerous projects that were realized thanks to the "i-platform" through local MeetUp.
It is important to mention that the promotion was attended by representatives of local communities with which the i-platform already has cooperation, as well as local actors from Travnik.
After the ceremonial part, the gathering continued in the restaurant "Ex-Ponto" and ended with a visit to the birthplace of our Nobel laureate, Ivo Andrić.
