Despite all the challenges we faced in the previous period, we have entered the standardization phase, which will result in our actions in the coming years.
Currently, i-diaspora has 352 members in its network, and that number is increasing day by day.
It is very important to emphasize that the contract between SDC and i-diaspora, for the second phase of the project, expired at the end of June 2020, but already on July 23 of the same year, a contract was signed between the mentioned parties for the third phase of the project, and it will last until June 30, 2024.
When it comes to the staff, i.e. the i-diaspora team, we are proud to point out that we have formed a team that, with its competences and abilities, can respond to numerous challenges on a daily basis. In this regard, it is important to note that the head of i-diaspora is Mr. Nikola Burić, our executive director, while the rest of the team consists of Aldin Vrškić who, apart from working with Mr. Burić on the development of i-diaspora and its network in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also works on the preparation of project proposals for various donors/partners - mostly for Movetia - the Swiss Agency for Exchange and Mobility. In addition to Mr. Vrškić, the team also includes Ms. Lamija Nadžaković, who is in charge of content creation, but also acts as the organization's PR manager. Ms. Stana Matavulj, who works in administration and finance, is also in the i-diaspora team. As coordinators of our program activities "Local Diaspora Online Meetups", Mrs. Dalida Karabdić acts as a representative of the local network in Kladanj, Mr. Nermin Zejnilović as a representative of the local network in Bijeljina and Mr. Safet Kubat as a representative of the local network in Zenica and Zavidovići. Recently, Mrs. Nejira Nalić McCarrick, who primarily deals with fundraising, joined our team. Everyone works for a fixed period of time.
It is very important to note that certain changes have also taken place when it comes to the Management Board of i-Diaspora. Namely, at the General Assembly that took place on January 29, 2021, Mr. Tarik Kapić was appointed as the President of the Board of Directors, while Messrs. Edin Dacić, Nenad Stojanović and Ivica Petrušić are members of the Board. Also, Mrs. Lajla Aganović joined the board.
From day to day, we record a constant flow of followers of our work. We communicate every day with our partners, but also with the Bosnian diaspora through formed groups on WhatsApp and Telegram channels, through the Zoom application, as well as through social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin), and the increase in visitors to our website is also noticeable.
Currently, 2078 people follow us on Linkedin, 2217 people on Facebook, 105 on Twitter, and 386 on Instagram. Also, our mailing list consists of 1,628 person.
We are also represented in the Bosnian and Herzegovinian media, and often in the world media as well.
And, in order to improve our daily activities, we are in regular communication with the Embassy of Switzerland in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Switzerland, representatives of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We are especially proud of the numerous projects that are behind us. The "Local Meetup" project achieved enormous success, and was launched in several BiH cities. So far, we have held 22 in Kladanj, and multiple ones have been recorded in Bijeljina, Zenica, Zavidovići, Živinice, and one in Stolac.
Also, in cooperation with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Switzerland, we launched the i-counter project thanks to which Bosnians and Herzegovinans in Switzerland can get all the necessary "bureaucratic" information.
We organize webinars with the Chamber of Foreign Trade in BiH, the social and educational event "Coffee with Esad Bajtal", we regularly attend monthly meetings called "Diaspora Online Check In", and behind us are the projects "Rivjeka", "We make democracy", "Rethink festival", "Balkan Coop" that we organized with partners, as well as events that we organized in cooperation with the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society of BiH.
Hundreds of people, mostly from the diaspora, attended the mentioned events.
It is important to emphasize that we established cooperation with the Association "5 Million Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina" and with HSLU, while we improved the existing cooperation with the Foundation "La Terra Nostra", Pangea network, SAJV, Pro Natura and Collaboratio Helvetica.
We still have many challenges and tasks ahead of us, such as the planned registration of the organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the implementation of i-radio and others, but all of the above requires time and other necessary resources.
Certainly, in addition to working on the aforementioned, we will continue to establish new partnerships and improve existing ones in the period ahead.
