The second Diaspora Conference from Bosnia and Herzegovina titled "Youth and BiH: Making Steps Together" was held in Sarajevo from 19 to 21 June, organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference was attended by over 70 participants from 14 countries.

The conference was realized within the project "Diaspora for Development," which is a project of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Switzerland, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The aim of the conference is to gather young people from the diaspora and to connect them with representatives of institutions and non-governmental sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their mutual merging in the countries of reception.

Semiha Borovac, Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, expressed her satisfaction with the great response of successful young people from the diaspora, which, according to her, confirmed the importance of the relationship between the motherland and the emigrants, as well as readiness for cooperation. The goal of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to build bridges of long-term collaboration and binding of young people from the emigrants for the homeland in the future by building trust and improving relations with young people from the emigration.

In front of the Embassy of Switzerland in BiH, Ambassador Andrea Rauber Saxer addressed the Embassy of Switzerland, emphasizing the great support of Switzerland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as one of the reasons she stated the role of the diaspora, "far more than just sending money home."

In front of the i-platform organization, Vanja Drača Stojnić stated that this conference in Sarajevo is an excellent opportunity for young people to connect and to get acquainted with the institutions in BiH that can facilitate the start-up of the business in the future. "There should be more work in defining and researching the target groups of the diaspora because it is not the same if the first, second or third generation and therefore should be seen as one market and adjust the offer of BiH to these target groups." - Vanja Drača Stojnić.

Switzerland offers many programs aimed at engaging young people because they are not just the future - they are also the present.
