As we previously announced, the i-platform, in cooperation with five other emigrant organizations, but also the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is in the organizing team of the event called "The importance of the native language in the diaspora."

What exactly is it about?

At the beginning of February, more precisely on February 3rd, 2021 representatives of the Pangea Network from Germany, the Association of Bosnian Associations Operating in Denmark (SBHUD), representatives of BH Roots from Austria, leaders of the Board of BiH Teachers, also operating in Denmark (OBHU), representatives of the Bosniak Cultural Society "Preporod" from Split, representatives of the i-platform from Switzerland, and representatives of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, from the Sector for Emigration with joint efforts and resources organize a unique online event that will emphasize the importance of the native language, its preservation, especially in the field of our emigrants. The idea arose within the already established cooperation between these organizations and the Ministry, gathered around the well-known project Diaspora Online Check In.

The goal of this event is to exchange experiences and strengthen mutual cooperation that would contribute to the improvement of native language learning in the diaspora.

Lecturer Dr. Dina Mehmedbegović - Smith

Her concept of “Healthy Linguistic Nutrition” is an innovative approach to language learning, as well as her autobiographical approach to developing intercultural skills.

However, the participants will also be addressed by Mr. Vedad Boberg - Fazlić, who will present the results of research conducted in Germany, regarding online learning of the native language in that country.

Also, this event will be an ideal opportunity to introduce participants to the current practice of learning the native language in the host countries, and on this occasion the actors will be addressed by Ms. Semira Ceribašić, representative of the Bosnian School Munich, and Ms. Jasminka Hasanbašić, representative of the BiH Teachers' Committee in Denmark.
