The meeting was attended by representatives of the i-platform, as well as an enviable number of students, both from Switzerland and from the countries of Southeast Europe.
After the CEO of the i-platform, Nikola Burić presented to the participants of the online event his work, but also the work of the i-platform itself, introducing them to our future plans, the floor was taken by the esteemed Aleksandar Ličinar, current president of the Association YUnited. “Although otherwise very active and dedicated to its work, the Association also temporarily reduced its activities due to the new situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic”, said Ličinar.
However, in the hope that better days will come for all of us and that online meetings will soon be replaced by "live", students asked a number of questions about potential cooperation, both between themselves and the Swiss i-platform, and between Swiss students and students from the Western Balkans.
Representatives of the i-platform talk about the importance of networking on a daily basis. And, thanks to the organization of this online event, we have once again confirmed that we are on the right track and that the theses we represent are really correct.
An interesting experience was shared by Aleksa Tatić, the future Master of Environmental Protection, who will soon defend his master's thesis on the topic: "Waste management in Bosnia and Herzegovina."
While writing his master's thesis, Aleksa needed a lot of information. However, on his own initiative, contacting a large number of international and domestic institutions, the mass of his questions remained unanswered. However, everything changed when Tatić decided to ask for help at the i-platform address. As he claims, having informed the responsible person of the i-platform about his problem, a reversal occurs in the mentioned situation, and young Aleksa very quickly connects with those who could have provided him with the necessary information.
Selfless help and the desire to, in accordance with our capabilities, to satisfy all those who intend to remain in correlation with the homeland, is one of our primary goals.
The members of the YUnited Association were more than pleasantly surprised by what they saw, and each of them declared that the i-platform really has great potential.
At the very end of the meeting, it was concluded that the joint activities of YUnited and the i-platform should definitely continue, at the beginning of next semester with concrete projects in which young people from the diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina would be actively involved.
