At the beginning of last week, a thematic Zenica meetup was organized to discuss the "Steel trail Zenica" project, which was attended by the Zenica i-diaspora representative, Mr. Safet Kubat, representatives of the Zenica City Administration and the Diaspora. Also, the presence of Mrs. Elma Kablar, a representative of the sports association "Modern Escape Europe", was inevitable.
After the moderators introduced the participants to the previous activities related to the upcoming race, which we wrote about earlier, the evening was spent in fundraising, as well as in concluding specific agreements regarding the financing of the project. We are especially pleased with the fact that the project was supported by eminent businessmen, as well as companies, which will certainly be discussed in the coming weeks.
Apart from the fact that over 110 applications for participation have already arrived, both from Bosnia and Herzegovina and a dozen other countries, it is important to emphasize that this event will enrich children without parental care with their presence, which gives the race an inclusive character. But, apart from them, part of the race will also be children, members of the Zenica kindergarten "Sindibad".
Let us emphasize once again that the purpose of this event is to promote care for our environment, with a focus on pointing out the excessive use of plastic in everyday life. The Green Race will appeal to the Zenica picnic area Smetovi, where the race itself will take place, to be declared a national park in order to protect its natural beauty. As part of the race, wooden markings will be placed on the tracks instead of the usual plastic ones, and even medals will be made of wood, which is the next step in the fight against environmental pollution.
