The participants received, among other things, information regarding the sector of tourism in Switzerland and the Swiss market.

In order to foster the economic cooperation, the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a tourist destination and the establishment of travel agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Swiss market, i-dijaspora initiated within the initiative i-platform - Diaspora for development of Bosnia and Herzegovina the participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at this year's Swiss Travel Day. BiH's performance at the Swiss Travel Day, that will take place on 25th October 2018 in Zurich, is being organised in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Srpska and the company SEE Investment Solutions.

The preparatory workshop was held on Thursday, 30th August 2018 at the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it was opened by Edin Dacić, steering board member of the association i-dijaspora, and Ognjenka Lalović, director of the Economy Department of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.

Ms Andrea Rauber Saxer, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, also addressed the audience and held a short presentation. She highlighted that the tourism potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be adequately presented and constantly promoted, because BiH has plenty to offer to the tourists and there are many similarities with Switzerland when talking about its landscape.

The representatives of the tourism agencies received during the workshop, that was held by the tourism promotion consultant Alexander Hofacker, a number of advices and suggestions concerning their preparation for the Swiss Travel Day. Requests and possibilities for BiH agencies for entering the Swiss market were also presented.

  3. Increase BiH companies’ competitiveness as well as enhance export skills and thereby contribute to the creation of employment in the BiH tourism sector
