The meeting was attended by representatives of the Swiss organization i-platform, Ahmed Spahić, representative of Pangea Netzwerk from Germany, Bakir Islambegović on behalf of the NGO BH Roots, representatives of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while other usually present participants, this time were prevented to attend a one-month gathering, but will be informed about the activities of the meeting in a timely manner.
At this, the fifth Check In, the activities of the organizations were presented so far, and therefore the moderator of the meeting, Mr. Kemo Sarač, Assistant of Minister in the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, pointed out that the Ministry is in the process of awarding grants to municipalities and cities. with a special focus on the relationship of the mentioned units with BH. diaspora. However, according to Mr. Sarač, the attached applications for the allocation of funds are quite vague, although numerous trainings on this topic have been organized.
At the same time, the Ministry is working to improve their portal, communicating on daily basis with our citizens in diaspora regarding their inquiries about the coronavirus and the new situation in general, and also maintaining contact with representatives of the Swedish Embassy. Certainly, their exhaustive talks with the representatives of UNDP and IOM are indispensable.
Ahmed Spahić, a representative of Pangea Netzwerk from Germany, a network that recently signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the i-platform, said that the current focus of the organization is potentially formalizing cooperation with GIZ, the German Society for International Cooperation, while Bakir Islambegović from NGO BH Roots said that the first free online workshop had been held earlier, and the first webinar called "Opportunities for young people in the digital age" was planned for next Saturday (December 19). The webinar will be held at 5:00 p.m.
Nikola Burić, CEO of the i-platform said that our organization continues its successful cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, pointed out the success of the Kladanj Meet Up project and announced our future projects.
One of the topics of this meeting was the issue of the native language, which will be discussed separately at the thematic meeting, which will be held in 2021.
The next meeting of this kind is scheduled for January 14 next year.
