Some research has shown that in previous years, the voices of young people who want to influence politics, but also change the awareness of individuals on certain issues, could be heard more and more often. This phenomenon and youthful energy is especially noticeable in the countries of the Western Balkans, but it is still insufficiently influential and appreciated.

The need for greater inclusion of young people in everyday social and political issues was proved by the crisis caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, and this need was recognized by the initiators of the "We make democracy" project, thanks to which young people aged 18-30 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Switzerland or Kosovo have the opportunity to learn and promote democratic values and encourage inclusion.

The project is based on peer to peer education, and participants will have the opportunity to exchange information through a digital platform.

Today's activity, a kick off webinar, which will also take place tomorrow, via the online platform, marked the beginning of an adventure that will last until the end of 2022. Until then, the following are planned: the launch of a digital platform, youth exchange in Switzerland, three thematic visits to youth organizations in Slovenia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the implementation of planned projects and the final conference.

The partner of the "We make democracy" project in BiH is the Association Naša djeca Zenica, and it is also supported by Movetia, the Swiss agency for exchange and mobility.
