After Safet Kubat, a representative of i-platform and i-diaspora, welcomed the gathered participants and presented the meeting agenda, Džeraldina Miličević, an assistant mayor at the Municipality of Zavidovići, took the word. Since in the focus of the 3rd Zavidovići Meetup were the organic and handmade product businesses, Miličević talked about the Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Club Zavidovići and together with its president, Enesa Bukvić, she introduced participants to the Support Club’s program and initiatives.
The gathered assembly could then hear a story of Edin Gudić that tuned in live from Linz. At the beginning Gudić talked about the possibilities and great potential that organic food businesses have and presented the work of the Western Balkan platform, and then he invited all women entrepreneurs to create a catalogue of their products and pay a visit to his office in Linz. He encouraged their work by telling these hardworking women that their products, without any doubt, are going to find their place on the supermarket shelves in the EU countries if they meet all the required standards.
The next to address the gathered participants live from Ulm was Nedžad Mulavdić that also pointed out the possibilities for collaboration between companies and associations in Ulm and entrepreneurs from Zavidovići. His idea about starting the ORGANIC FOOD platform, that would enable people to order homemade and organic products that would be then delivered to their home address, was met with great delight.
Nikola Burić, a chief executive officer at i-platform and i-diaspora, thanked the gathered assembly for their participation and support, presented the project “Balkan Coop”, and expressed his willingness and eagerness to sustain business ideas through i-platform and i-diaspora activities and network.
A rich program of the 3rd Zavidovići Meetup reached its peak when local entrepreneurs shared their success stories. Enes Kalabić talked about his forest fruit export business, while Mubera Keserović and Mersiha Skejić represented their projects and initiatives that aim at empowering and supporting women entrepreneurship in Zavidovići. Local success stories were warmly welcomed by the participants who expressed their pride and willingness to contribute to their further growth in the following period.
Merima Bašić, a city administrative officer of Zavidovići, talked about projects realized in collaboration between the Municipality of Zavidovići and Zavidovići diaspora, and she also announced their future partnership that will be thoroughly presented on Meetups that will be organized in the future. The last to address the gathered participants was Najla Ridžal, a doctor and a writer that announced the following gatherings and made an emotional speech in which she emphasized the great potential that lies in combining medicine and art.
The 3rd Zavidovići Meetup was marked by solid recommendations and precise plans for future collaboration and partnerships. Gathered representatives and participants also agreed on organizing a special event that will bring together experts, enthusiasts, and decision makers that can help launch products from Zavidovići to the EU countries.
