Zenica Meet Up - for ecologically sustainable development and environmental protection
This time we hosted well-known activists, environmental fighters and enthusiasts, Samir Lemeš and Safet Kubat, and the participants were addressed by representatives of the City - a representative of the Department of Ecology, Communal Affairs and Local Community Jakuta Imširović, and Maša Škrbić, marketing, promotion associate and City investments.
The event opened with a presentation of the mentioned activists as well as their activities. Many projects have been initiated and implemented by the Eco Forum Zenica, but also the informal Facebook group Rijeke Bosne i Hercegovine „Budi promjena“ which has over thirty thousand members.
Various problems that the residents of Zenica have been facing for a long time regarding environmental pollution have been presented. One of the biggest is the disposal of waste, which should be resolved for the benefit of all citizens. It is necessary to change the system, introduce a penal policy and at least in this way emphasize the importance of preserving the environment.
IT has great potential for solving most of Zenica's problems. Young people are the ones who need to work on improvement using modern tools. By the joint action of Zenica residents around the world and local people, positive results are possible.
We will certainly discuss environmental protection in the future, given the fact that this is an extremely important topic.
