SevdahLab workshop and concert of Damir Imamovic held in Lausanne

i-platform organised a SevdahLab workshop with Damir Imamovic on Friday, 21st September 2018. The concert was organised at the same evening in cooperation with the organisation Kultur Shock from Bern. Both events were held at "Zinéma" in Lausanne and were attended by many guests.

SevdahLab workshop was interactive presentation of sevdah, its history and aesthetics. Interested participants, not only at those who know of traditional B-H and Balkan music who would like to learn more, but also to those who for those who encounter this art form for the first time, was meant to convey the basics of sevdah. The Sevdah Laboratory is based on Damir's research on traditional music. Participants of the workshop had the opportunity to learn the basics of keeping the body while singing, as well as techniques of breathing and singing. A short history and development of sevdah and sevdalinka through time has been presented. 

Concert by Damir Imamović

A concert of Damir Imamović was held in the alternative space of theater Zinéma in Lausanne, and was a result of cooperation with the rock organisation Kultur Shock from Berne. The performance of the sevdalinka singer, made it possible to promote the oral tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina and resulted in the presence of numerous sevdalinka enthusiasts.

The support and promotion of the rich cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina and linking institutions and artists, as well as individuals motivated to implement ideas and projects that contribute to the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the guiding principle of all projects created within the i-platform.
