"Rivjeka 2022" is a continuation of last year's exchange that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland took part. 24 of them!
Education on river protection will continue to be the focus of this project, but also the organization of a school in nature, for young people from Travnik.
It is interesting that the last European wild rivers are located in the Balkans. They are in danger due to the construction of numerous hydroelectric power plants, many of which endanger the rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Switzerland, due to the intensive use of watercourses and land, ecological quality, in most Swiss rivers, is in problematic condition.
Rivjeka 2022 is planned and implemented by the participants of Rivjeka 2021, and full support is provided by Pro Natura, CEM and i-diaspora.
From 1st to 9th July, the Areusa and Kander rivers, their sources of drinking water, alluvial areas, the impact of hydropower plants and the impact of climate change on river ecology will be studied. Also, education on the environment and waterways will be organized.
Young people, these days, will be accommodated in Neuchâtel and Kandersteg. If you are interested in this educational exchange, apply, no later than May 15 this year, via this link.
This project is financially supported by Movetia, which promotes exchange, mobility and cooperation in the field of education, training and youth work in Switzerland, Europe and the rest of the world.
